Estrategia

Who we are

The RURENER project is a network of small rural communities (villages and small towns) that want to reach a neutral energy print at the local level.

The Network brings tools and methods to support its members’ energy strategy set-up and evaluation. It allows them to share experience, learn from each other and promote their action through mentoring and twining activities.

Thanks to this support, small rural municipalities implement concrete action plans at the local level aiming at energy efficiency. Production of renewable energy sources, investment to save energy in buildings, education, information, etc. are at the heart of the local energy strategies. The different actions set up lead to better use of local resources and opportunities and bring innovative local development to small rural communities throughout Europe.

RURENER disseminates actions and results to welcome new members and becomes a living network of villages and small towns committed to Energetic Neutrality objectives.

RURENER is built by a consortium of 12 project partners from: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Romania, Hungary and the UK.

HOW TO CONVERT A SEAP INTO RENEWABLE ENERGY INVESTMENTS?
Category: Financing schemes
Description: Energiaklub Climate Policy Institute&Applied Communications organised the third technical workshop within the „Towards 100% RES communities” project in March 2014. Our partners at the event were the South Transdanubian Regional Development Agency, Community Energy Scotland and Dumfries&Galloway Council. These four organisations have been cooperating very effectively since 2012, the beginning of the project. The third technical workshop aimed at presenting the joint SEAP of the 16 Hungarian municipalities and discussing the possibilities of the implementation of the proposed actions. Further goals were to deepen the cooperation between the stakeholders of the two regions and to exchange experiences about best practice examples in the field of community RES investments. The Scottish delegation Simon McKinney(Community Energy Scotland), Ian Carruthers and Chris Wood-Gee (both Dumfries&Galloway Council) presented territorial planning and the progress of the project in Dumfries and Galloway, as well as projects implemented and planned by the participating municipalities. The representatives of the experienced territory also provided consultancy for the members of local authorities taking part in the project Participants of the workshop were mostly representatives of the 16 Hungarian municipalities developing a joint SEAP within the project. These municipalities are all part of a LEADER Local Action Group (containing 46 local authorities) but only started to cooperate on energy issues in 2013. The workshop was held in Hosszúhetény, one of the communities taking part in the SEAP elaboration. The SEAP of these communities was developed by Energiaklub in strong cooperation with the officers of the LEADER LAG. The results of this common work were presented at the workshop. The local authorities do not content theirself with having a SEAP in their hands, they are determined to implement the planned measures. The LEADER LAG submitted an application for a grant in cooperation
Signatories involved: Hosszúhetény
